May 9 -- Come and Pray For God’s Mercy
Where "The Pill" Began
On May 9, 1960, the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) approved Enovid as
the first prescription oral
contraceptive. "The Pill" has proved to
be one of the most blatant examples of
our failure to trust in God’s Divine
Providence for each and every person.
The Pill has also been called an assault
on women's health experts and even by
those involved in developing and testing
the drug. Please join in marking
this anniversary and embracing God’s
Divine Plan through a 9 day period of
prayer, fasting and repentance.
How can you participate? On May 1, The
Feast of Saint Joseph The Worker, begin
to fast and pray the prayer to Jesus in
the womb and Scripture from Philippians
found below: at home, at work, with your
family and loved ones, alone... wherever
you find yourself. Surrender yourself to
God’s Infinite Love and Mercy. Reflect
on His Omnipotence. Beg Him to help you
in your faith and complete trust in Him.
By continuing this practice you will
strengthen not only yourself but the
entire Body of Christ.
Join us on Tuesday, May 9. Together we
will gather in prayer at the site where
"The Pill" was first researched and
developed at the behest of Margaret
Sanger: the former Worcester Foundation
for Medical Research in Shrewsbury,
Massachusetts, presently the University
of Massachusetts / Shrewsbury.
Bring your family, your friends, and
most importantly, your conviction
strengthened by your prayer and fasting,
that God alone is to be completely
trusted. Remember that we are gathering
not in protest – signs are not
appropriate here. Rather we will gather
in communal prayer, where nothing but a
sincere heart is necessary.
If you seek God’s mercy... if you seek
the Grace to increase your belief in His
unconditional love... if you seek the
grace necessary for complete trust in
His Divine Providence… then please join
us. There is so much to share.

Here is the text of the above mentioned
prayers:
Philippians 2:6-11
Though he was in the form of God, Jesus
did not deem equality with God something
to be grasped at. Rather, he emptied
himself and took the form of a slave,
being born in the likeness of man. He
was known to be of human estate, and it
was thus that he humbled himself,
obediently accepting even death, death
on a cross! Because of this, God highly
exalted him and bestowed on him the name
above every other name, so that at
Jesus’ name every knee must bend in the
heavens, on the earth, and under the
earth, and every tongue proclaim Jesus
Christ is Lord to the glory of God the
Father.
Novena Prayer in honor of Jesus in the
womb
Eternal Father, by the imprisonment of
the infant Jesus in the womb of Mary
deliver me from the chains of sin and of
hell. And thou, Mary, Mother of God,
help me! Thou hast in thy womb the Son
of God imprisoned and confined, as,
therefore, Jesus is thy prisoner. He
will do everything that thou tell him.
Tell him to pardon me; tell him to make
me holy. Help me, my Mother, for
the sake of the favor and honor that
Jesus Christ conferred upon thee by
dwelling within thee for nine months.
Amen.
St. Alphonsus de Ligouiri
Doctor of the Church
